1. Who we are
Calc for Class is a U.S.-based educational project created by math teachers and student contributors. Questions about this policy can be sent through our contact page.
2. Calculator inputs and results
Most original calculators run in the visitor’s browser. We do not intentionally send ordinary calculator entries to a Calc for Class database unless a page clearly explains that a server feature is being used.
The TI-84 Calculator Online uses an externally delivered calculator runtime. When that calculator loads, the browser connects to the external service identified on the calculator page. Calculation activity may remain available during the open calculator session, but Calc for Class does not currently provide server-side account history or guaranteed persistence after a refresh or browser close.
The Graphing Calculator Online uses an authorized Desmos API integration. When that page loads, the browser connects to Desmos to deliver the graphing engine. Calc for Class may save the last graph and named graph states in local browser storage on the current device, and shared graph links may contain graph-state information in the URL fragment. Calc for Class does not currently upload those locally saved graph states to its own server.
3. Browser storage and offline features
The site may use local storage, browser caches or a service worker to remember limited preferences, improve loading and support selected offline pages. Examples include interface preferences or cached site files. These items remain on the device unless the browser removes them or the user clears site data.
4. Hosting, security and technical logs
Calc for Class is delivered through Cloudflare. Like other hosting and security providers, Cloudflare may process request information such as IP address, date and time, requested URL, browser or device information, security signals and diagnostic data to deliver, protect and measure the service.
5. Analytics
We may use aggregate website analytics to understand which pages are useful, identify errors and improve performance. Analytics configurations can process technical information such as page visits, approximate location derived from network information, device type and referral source. We do not use analytics reports to create public student profiles.
6. Contact forms and resource requests
When a visitor sends a message, we receive the information entered in the form, which may include a name, email address and message. We use it to answer the request, investigate a problem or improve a resource. Please do not submit sensitive personal information, passwords, student records or unnecessary information about a child.
7. Children’s privacy
The website is designed to be useful for students, but the core tools do not require a child to create an account or provide a name, birthday, school, home address or public profile. Children should not submit personal information through the contact form without the involvement of a parent, guardian or teacher.
If a future feature is designed to collect personal information from children, we will review the feature separately and provide any notices, consent process and safeguards required before collection begins.
8. Advertising and cookies
Calc for Class may introduce advertising in the future. If advertising services such as Google AdSense are enabled, third-party vendors may use cookies, IP addresses or similar technologies for ad delivery, fraud prevention, frequency control and measurement. Before or when such advertising is activated, we will update this policy and provide consent or privacy controls where required.
9. Planned scholarship initiative
The scholarship initiative described on the About page is still being planned and is not accepting applications. We do not currently collect scholarship applicant records. A separate application notice and privacy explanation will be published before any application form opens.
10. External links and services
Some pages link to or load services operated by other organizations. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We encourage visitors, parents and educators to review the policies of external services before using them.
11. Data retention and choices
We retain contact messages and operational records only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose, security, troubleshooting or legal obligations. Visitors can clear local browser storage through their browser settings. To ask about information submitted through a form, use the contact page and provide enough detail for us to locate the request.
12. Security and policy changes
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, but no website or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. We may update this policy when the website, service providers or legal requirements change. The updated date at the top will show the latest revision.
