Find the problem by symptom
Choose a group or read all issues. Every answer identifies whether the action is generally borrower-safe, depends on college policy or should be handled by lending staff.
My graph does not appear
- Confirm the function is entered and enabled in Y=.
- Check for unmatched parentheses or entry errors.
- Try ZOOM, then 6:ZStandard.
- Check that another plot or unusual window is not hiding the function.
The graph looks compressed, empty or unreasonable
Inspect the Xmin, Xmax, Ymin and Ymax values or use ZStandard. A graph can be mathematically correct but invisible in the current window.
Trigonometry gives an unexpected answer
Check whether the problem uses degrees or radians. Press MODE and confirm the selected angle unit before recalculating.
My answer is a decimal, fraction or scientific notation
First decide what form the assignment requires. An equivalent representation is not automatically wrong. Use model-supported conversion functions only when needed, and preserve adequate precision.
Old functions, lists or plots are appearing
You may clear your own entries, but a borrowed calculator may contain programs, lists or settings intended for a course. Do not perform a full reset. If you are unsure which entries are yours, ask lending staff or your instructor.
I see ERR:INVALID DIM or a list-related error
Check whether lists used together contain the required number of values and whether a statistical plot refers to a missing or unequal list. See the detailed common-error guide before deleting anything.
I changed something and cannot restore it
Stop before resetting memory. Note what you changed and ask the lending desk or instructor which settings the college expects.
The screen is blank, damaged or extremely dim
Try the normal power key and only the model's ordinary display adjustment. Do not open the calculator, remove batteries or attempt hardware repair unless the college explicitly authorises it.
A key, case, cable or battery compartment is damaged
Stop using the device if damage may worsen or create a safety issue. Record what you observed and contact the lending desk promptly.
Three safety rules
- Do not perform a full memory reset by default.
- Do not open or repair a borrowed calculator.
- Local lending and exam policies always take priority.
